1. Who we are

AgriTerra is a farmland analysis platform operated by Horizon Two Labs. For purposes of GDPR, AgriTerra is the data controller for personal data collected through this marketing site.

2. What we collect

• Contact form submissions. When you fill out our contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message contents you provide.
• Analytics data (on by default; you can opt out). Unless you opt out, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymized usage data: page views, time on page, approximate geographic region (country/city level), device type, browser, and the referring page. You can opt out at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer, which stops this collection and persists your choice.
• Funnel analytics (on by default; you can opt out). Unless you opt out, each page you load also sends a first-party “visit” event to our own Scout backend. Each event contains an anonymous identifier (stored in the agt_anon_id cookie), the full URL of the page you viewed, the referring page, and the page path. We also record product-usage events (which sections you view, which buttons you click) tied only to that same anonymous identifier. We use this to understand how visitors move between this site and the Scout app (scout.agriterra.io). These events include no name, email address, or other directly identifying details.
• Attribution (on by default; you can opt out). Unless you opt out, we store a small anonymous record in your browser (agt_attr in local storage) of how you first reached the site: the campaign parameters in the link you clicked (utm_*, and ad-click ids like gclid/fbclid when present), the referring site, and the first page you landed on. If you start a land analysis, these anonymous values travel with it so we can see which campaigns lead to real use. They contain no name, email address, or other directly identifying details.

Analytics run by default to help us improve the site; opting out (via Cookie Settings) stops both the Google Analytics and the funnel “visit” collection above and is remembered across visits. We do not collect personal data from visitors who opt out of analytics and do not use the contact form. Scout (scout.agriterra.io) and AgriTerra Land Reports have separate privacy notices that govern data collected through those products.

3. Cookies we use

• Strictly necessary: none on this marketing site.
• Analytics (on by default; opt-out): Google Analytics 4 sets cookies named _ga and _ga_93TK7EW052. These store an anonymous client identifier and session counters. Default retention is 14 months. They are set unless you opt out.
• Analytics (on by default; opt-out): a first-party cookie named agt_anon_id stores an anonymous, randomly generated identifier. Because it is scoped to the .agriterra.io domain, it links anonymous visits across this marketing site and the Scout app (scout.agriterra.io) for funnel analytics. It holds no personal information, is set by default unless you opt out, and expires after 1 year.
• Attribution (on by default; opt-out): a first-party local-storage entry named agt_attr stores the anonymous first-visit attribution described in section 2 (campaign parameters, referring site, and first landing page). It holds no personal information and is set by default unless you opt out. Opting out removes it and stops further writes.

No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for anonymized analytics, which run by default and which you may opt out of at any time via Cookie Settings.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for handling correspondence you initiate via the contact form.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Opt out of analytics at any time (use Cookie Settings in the footer)
• Object to processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal data. We do not sell or share personal data as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

6. How we share data

• Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA) processes analytics data on our behalf under Google’s Data Processing Terms.
• Email providers we use to receive and respond to contact form messages.
• Scout API (our own backend, hosted on Render, Inc., USA) receives the “visit” events described in section 2, which are sent by default unless you opt out. Each event contains the anonymous agt_anon_id identifier, the full URL of the page viewed, the referring page, and the page path, and is used only for our own funnel analytics.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share personal data outside of these processors.

7. International transfers

Google Analytics may transfer data to the United States. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, providing safeguards recognized as adequate by the European Commission.

8. Retention

• Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics default)
• Contact form correspondence: until the matter is resolved plus 12 months for record-keeping

9. Security

We use industry-standard security including TLS encryption for data in transit and access controls for stored data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
