AgriTerra Joins AgriNovus Indiana's 2026 Velocity Cohort

A quick bit of company news, and then the part that actually matters. This month AgriTerra joined the 2026 Velocity cohort at AgriNovus Indiana — the kind of milestone that's easy to turn into a press release and hard to make meaningful. So instead, here's what we're building, what the program is, and why this particular room moves it forward.

What Velocity is

Velocity is AgriNovus Indiana's accelerator for agbioscience startups, this year presented by the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Soybean Alliance. For 2026 it shifted from open enrollment to a selective, twelve-company cohort spread across three tracks — bioinnovation, farmer-focused innovation, and food is health. The focus areas weren't drawn from a hat; they trace back to a study of the priority problems facing Indiana agriculture. The program runs five months and culminates in a demo day on November 19, 2026.

AgriNovus Indiana president and CEO Christy Wright called this year's group "an exceptional set of startups working at the intersection of innovation and industry need." We're glad to be counted in it. (Full announcement and cohort.)

Why we're here

The problem we work on is easy to state and stubborn to solve: the data that determines what a piece of land is worth is scattered, technical, and effectively invisible to the people who own the ground. Soil, water, flood risk, energy potential, conservation eligibility — each lives in a separate federal database built for an agency, not a landowner.

AgriTerra's Scout pulls that public data together for any parcel and turns it into a plain-language read. Land Scout lets a landowner type in an address and compare four futures side by side, in real dollars — farm it, cash-rent it, enroll it in conservation, or lease it for solar or wind. Six federal data sources, one instant analysis, in under a minute.

Being farmer-focused isn't just a track name for us — it's the whole point. A decision-support tool is only worth something at the kitchen table, when someone is deciding whether to sign a lease or renew a rent. Velocity puts us in front of the operators, agronomists, and partners who can pressure-test whether we're actually solving that, not just describing it.

What's next

Over the next five months we'll be heads-down with the cohort, and we'll share what we learn here as we go — this blog is where we think out loud about land and the data behind it.
